School break


March 2 to 17, 2019

Take advantage of the school break to enjoy yourself in Quebec City's largest playing field: the Plains of Abraham. Skiing, nnowshoeing, a visit to the Museum... You are spoiled for choice!

Come loosen up and take part in the historically exciting or "simply" entertaining activities. For the enjoyment of all ages.


INDOOR ACTIVITIES

Plains of Abraham Museum

Special animation during school break with an historical character to make interactive demonstrations, such as canon manoeuvres. Entrance fees also take a break for students and admission is free of charge for 17 years and under.


Battles
Explore the history of the siege of Québec, the Battle of the Plains of Abraham (1759) and the Battle of Sainte-Foy (1760). Immersive screening, collection of uniforms, interactive games, scale models, and more!


Identities
View numerous artefacts from the Park's archaelogical collection. In addition to the physical traces left behind by the people who occupied the sites, discover their history and identity!

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, skating and walking

Enjoy nature in the heart of Quebec City! An attractive and accessible natural settings you can enjoy daily, for free.

  • Cross-country skiing: 11.5 km of groomed trails (classic and skate skiing) for beginner and intermediate cross-country skiers.
  • Snowshoeing: 3.8 km of maintained trails (round trip).
  • Skating: Plains of Abraham skating rink located on the sports field east of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec.
  • Walking: 5.6 km of snow sidewalks for hikers.

Equipment rental ($): You can rent boots, cross-country skis, snowshoes and skates at the skaters' chalet located on the sports field.

Other services: A trail map is available in the various service points of the park. A waxing room (on the sport field) and two heated stops are provided for hikers and cross-country skiers (at the Plains of Abraham Museum and at the Pavilion, near Edwin-Bélanger Bandstand).
